Last week, we were once again reminded why we love RE/MAX. Thousands of RE/MAX brokers and agents from around the world converged in Las Vegas for the annual RE/MAX convention. There were also mortgage brokers, bankers, entrepreneurs, marketing experts, social media gurus, and many other vendors offering an array of products and services. We met so many amazing RE/MAX associates and affiliates who make us proud to be a part of such a great company.

The conference kicked off with an astounding dance performance by The Silhouettes followed by rousing presentations by RE/MAX co-founders David and Gail Liniger and CEO Margaret Kelly. We are in awe of the RE/MAX leadership team and thankful that such magnificent talent spearheads the company’s operations.

As always, the conference organizers put together an interesting, diverse agenda, including some incredibly inspirational speakers. We left Darren Hardy’s discussion about The Compound Effect motivated to make good choices and maintain the hard work and positive attitude requisite to achieving great success. Right after Hardy, leadership expert Simon Sinek made us assess our leadership style and reflect on the importance of building a strong office culture. We left the first morning session excited, inspired, and ready to get to work to become better leaders, build our business, and take RE/MAX Paradise to the next level.

Our enthusiasm was further fueled that afternoon because of the Global Referral Exchange. For several hours, we had the opportunity to meet with RE/MAX agents from around the world. Considering that RE/MAX has more than 90,000 agents in over 90 countries, one can imagine the awesomeness of that kind of networking event. Obviously, we connected with agents to exchange ideas and talk shop. However, more importantly, we connected with our fellow RE/MAX agents to ensure that we have a solid network of world-class agents available for our customers. We take pride knowing that we can refer our customers to the best agents across the globe.

Of course, we cannot overlook the awe-inspiring story Magic Johnson provided during the morning session on the second day. He proved to us through his account of his personal struggles and unique approach to building businesses that with the right mentality and unwavering persistence, adversity can be motivating and risks can be rewarding. In addition, Jean Chatzky offered important information about money and investing and caused us to ponder our personal and business finances. Throughout the week, there were also a ton of educational sessions, seminars, and workshops covering a variety of real estate, business, technology, and other related topics. There were plenty of social and networking events as well. The conference was held in Las Vegas after all.

RE/MAX really hit a home run by selecting John O’Leary to close the conference. His story is unbelievable and demonstrates the significance and power of the human spirit. Rather than relay his journey, anyone doubting the ability to overcome hardship or misfortune should check out his website to learn about his determination to rising above. We left the conference utterly impressed and extremely encouraged, certainly by O’leary, and by all of the extraordinary people we met and incredible stories we heard.

We will continue to think about the many amazing insights and suggestions that were shared with us and are focusing our post-conference reinvigoration on building RE/MAX Paradise and cultivating a solid team that provides supreme service and generates outstanding results. In fact, when we got back to the office this week, we spent several days debriefing about the conference and determining how to utilize what we had learned to grow RE/MAX Paradise, and ultimately, better serve our past, current, and prospective customers. We are always seeking to improve and striving to be the best, so please let us know how we can serve you! We don’t just want to find you a piece of real estate; we want to find you the home, lifestyle, or investment that you desire, regardless of whether you seek it in Miami Beach or elsewhere.

The RE/MAX R4 conference offered us an exceptional learning experience, and it is one for which we are grateful. Thank you, RE/MAX!
