Yes, the title of this post is correct. In Miami, we aim to finish inconvenient road construction projects early! What other cities can say that?! Most people are probably used to construction projects dragging on and on because of unexpected costs, weather delays, and more often than not, for no apparent reason whatsoever. Florida Department of Transportation, we’re impressed that you just might pull this off.
After months of lane closures and detours on South Beach’s very busy Alton Road, it looks like transportation officials can’t even handle the disruption for any longer than is absolutely necessary. The construction has clogged the streets, prevented customers from reaching businesses dotted along the route, and caused pedestrians trying to maneuver through the chaos to risk life and limb. Local and state government officials are creating a plan to expedite the project and anticipate finishing up seven months ahead of schedule. Although this was a necessary project, the early completion will be a welcome relief for South Beach property owners.
There is currently quite a bit of road construction throughout various parts of greater Miami. It is definitely infuriating while it is happening, but it ultimately serves the greater good, and it is a positive sign that Miami is continuing to grow and prosper!
