Well, we thought the traffic on Miami Beach would improve fairly soon. Unfortunately, we have learned that right around the time the Alton Road construction project will end, a different construction project on the Venetian Causeway will begin. The bridge that connects Downtown Miami with several islands and Miami Beach, leading travelers right near Lincoln Road, has structural problems that will require it to be partially demolished and replaced.
We can look forward to this happening in about six months and the project is expected to take several months to complete. Although not great news, at least it will not overlap with the Alton Road construction project. And, there are other causeways that residents of the Venetian Islands can use if they really must make their way to the mainland.
As far as we’re concerned, why bother leave Miami Beach! It has everything one needs to enjoy life. We’ve got the sun, the sand, a plethora of restaurants, even more bars, a Whole Foods, pretty much all of the important necessities in life. If you happen to live in Miami and frequently make your way to South Beach via this causeway for work or what have you, perhaps it is time to peruse those South Beach condos you have been contemplating…
