0 Makeovers for Miami Beach Hotels

MBhotelsThere have been some serious makeovers for Miami Beach hotels dotted along South Beach’s world famous Collins Avenue. Some of these hotels have new ownership, some are experiencing massive renovations, and some are reopening because their new owners have invested in a complete overhaul of the hotel’s structure and design. Many of these hotels, constructed in the 1940s and 1950s, were in dire need of TLC so the timing certainly makes sense. However, it is also Miami’s status as a global capital and destination that is drawing real estate investors’ attention to Miami Beach property. Adding unique touches and upgraded finishes to Miami Beach’s central hotels may attract even more international tourists.

The really exciting part of this news is that a hotel management company that has four boutique luxury hotels in New York and Los Angeles is now delving into the Miami Beach hotel market. Specifically, the company Sixty Hotels is adding the Nautilus South Beach to its impressive repertoire, which was formerly known as the Continental Oceanfront South Beach Hotel. The hotel, situated at 1825 Collins Avenue, is expected to open by the end of the year, just in time for peak season!

The company is aiming for an “unpretentious beach vibe.” We like the sound of that. There is a common misconception that “luxury” can be synonymous with “snooty.” That just isn’t the case in the pretty laid back South Beach community. Creative developers and designers know how to cultivate a homey, comfortable feeling in a sophisticated, aesthetically pleasing building with upscale amenities. There is plenty of South Beach real estate that embodies those qualities. Ultimately, the increased supply of Miami luxury homes, combined with the improvements to the hotels and surrounding areas, will positively impact the already bustling local economy by continuing to attract capital. We can’t wait to see the additional changes the city of Miami Beach is likely to undergo in the next couple years.

By the way, other recently renovated and reopened hotels include the SLS Hotel South Beach, the Redbury South Beach, and the Gale South Beach. And, other hotels that have seen or will see some changes are the Raleigh Hotel, the Shelborne, and the Shore Club.
