Here we share with you what we consider to be some of the best bites on the beach. This is just a sampling of Miami Beach’s offerings because there are just too many for us to list them all!
If it is Southern comfort food you desire, hop on over to Yardbird. Fried chicken and waffles, biscuits, mac and cheese. Enough said. In addition to all of the wonderful fried and cheesy favorites, this place has a pretty impressive cocktail list with a lot of their own unique creations. Who knew there were so many ways to serve bourbon?!
For fine Italian fare, head to Scarpetta, which is located in the historic Fontainebleau Hotel and Resort. There is no way to describe the menu other than perfect. There is something for everyone here, including elegant pasta dishes, scrumptious seafood, and a variety of perfectly seasoned meat choices, as well as a separate vegetarian menu. And, you absolutely must save room for their decadent desserts – chocolate, coconut, caramel, coffee, cheese, and more unbelievable flavors.
As for Asian cuisine, Hakkasan is the place to try. They also happen to be located in the Fontainebleau. Their menu showcases a modern twist on Chinese food, including an entire menu devoted to the much-loved dim sum. This place is perfect for those who like to share plates and try a bit of everything, especially the items you won’t find on your local Chinese take out menu.
For a hearty breakfast or brunch, check out Front Porch Cafe on Ocean Drive. But, who says you have to eat breakfast in the morning?! You will be on Miami time after all. Their awesome breakfast menu items are available until 6 p.m. And, the menu boasts all of the traditional favorites and then some. They have been voted best brunch on the beach more than once. And, diners can chow and people watch at the same time because there is plenty of sidewalk seating.
Finally, for some classic American dishes, stroll down Washington Avenue to the somewhat newer locale called Tongue and Cheek. Their happy hour menu and specials have got to be some of the best deals in town. Two dollar beef cheek sliders and some Donkey Punch, now that’s a happy hour! If you live in a condo South of Fifth, you can get a delicious, filling meal and plenty of cocktails for less than thirty bucks and then stroll, or stagger, on home. Or, you can nosh on a throwback TV dinner with an old school soda for just ten bucks. Every night they offer a different traditional favorite like grilled cheese or BBQ. And, they have a weekend brunch menu that is off the hook!
