Everyone knows that a lot of products are manufactured in China these days. Companies all over the world contract with Chinese manufacturers to supply them with goods. Obviously, the cost of materials and labor is cheaper in China than many other countries. For any local businesses trying to figure out how to connect with a China-based manufacturer, if you have some free time tomorrow, you may be in luck.
For a few more hours today, and all day tomorrow, there is a China Sourcing Fair in Miami. At the Miami Beach Convention center, hundreds of exhibitors have set up for the fair. These are China-based manufacturers offering the chance for business owners to speak face to face for deals on electronics, fashion accessories, garments and textiles, gifts and premiums, and home products. The overall goal of these fairs is to connect volume buyers with Chinese suppliers. The fairs are held in international markets several times per year. The other fairs take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Johannesburg, South Africa. It’s kind of cool that of all the U.S. cities where this could be held this year that Miami was chosen.
These sourcing fairs offer a great chance for business owners to meet directly with Chinese manufacturers without having to go through an intermediary or wonder if the person they have never met halfway across the world has what they need for their business. The fair isn’t for anyone though. If you plan to attend, make sure you have a stack of business cards and are there for a legitimate business purpose. This isn’t an ordinary sales fair, the exhibitors are looking for business connections to form long-term supply relationships with Miami-based companies. For Miami real estate individuals who focus on interior design or home staging, the home products exhibition may be worth checking out.
