0 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim

Today the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim kicks off, and it is celebrating its tenth anniversary! This swimsuit fashion extravaganza got its start in Miami in 2004. The show seems to get bigger and bigger every year and continues to attract the top swimsuit designers from around the world. This year’s runway will feature fashions from a number of world-famous designers, including Beach Bunny, Dolores Cortés, Frankie’s Bikinis, Luli Fama, Maaji, MIKOH, We Are Handsome, Suboo, 6 Shore Road, Mara Hoffman, Wildfox Swim, Poko Pano, and of course, so many more.

And, world-renowned designers won’t be the only famous faces attending the many events around Miami Beach throughout the weekend. Quite a few celebrities and models are expected to participate in the revelry as well. South Beach events frequently bring in people from around the world (international boat show, SOBE wine and food festival, countless music festivals, and so on). However, even when there aren’t special events like this taking place, tourism down here has been on the upswing lately. It seems like more and more people across the globe are beginning to realize just how amazing Miami Beach is.

In addition to the runway shows taking place at the Raleigh Hotel on South Beach, SwimShow is hosting a huge swimwear trade show at the nearby Miami Beach Convention Center. SwimShow is considered one of the best trade shows for the swimwear industry. This year the trade show will include 450 exhibitors with more than 3,000 global swimwear brands. And, they are expected to see close to 5,000 buyers from around the world. Between the fashion events and trade show, Miami will have approximately 10,000 visitors from more than 60 countries coming into town this weekend.

Obviously, Miami Beach is the best city in the U.S., and a logical choice, for a swimwear fashion event. However, we hope the many out of town visitors take some time to explore our awesome city. Even though the beach is a huge part of the South Beach lifestyle and culture, there is actually a lot more to this unique, diverse city.
