One military-specific realty agent certification is the “Did You Serve?” certification. This agent certification helps those in the real estate business learn what the need in order to best help those who are or have served in the military and their families purchase homes. The certification includes a pledge to ask every buyer if they have served in the military. Then, realty professionals are better able to give veterans the benefits they earned. Almost one third of veterans buying homes do not even know that benefits to them exist during the process, making the “Did You Serve?” certification very valuable to them.
Homes for Heroes and Heroes Home Advantage also provide real estate agents a personal way to express their gratitude to veterans. The programs give them an opportunity to give up to one fourth of their commission back to the buyer. 
Realtors across the country working in populations of large military personnel are continuing to enter volunteer programs to benefit veterans as well, understanding the importance of giving back to those who fought for our country.
