According to research and recently released statistics by the Miami Association of Realtors, Brazilians are the foreigners most searching on the Miami Association of Realtors’ group website. May 2015 was the twelfth consecutive month that South America’s largest country led with most searches on miamire.com
In the last eighteen months, Brazil has been on top with searching for Miami real estate fifteen months, being substituted by their South American neighbor Columbia only three times. Currently, Columbia buyers are the second most foreign country to be searching miamire.com, with Venezuela ranked third and Canada ranked fourth.
In 2014, Brazil held 11% of all international deals in South Florida. These Brazilians buying new homes and migrating to South Florida are found to be mostly upper-middle-class families who have found success in their homeland but are seeking out all that Miami has to offer. They are paying an average of $495,000 on real estate in South Florida, spending the most of any other foreign buyers. The average price of real estate for other foreign buyers is $444,000 per purchase in Miami, compared to $245,000 in Florida as a whole.
