Weather has been unseasonably warm and balmy so far this winter all down the East Coast. What does this mean for December real estate? According to realtor.com, more people are spending time outside, has been a great sign for December real estate. December is usually a slow month for real estate, but the warm weather has heated it up.

Without chilly winds and snow to discourage homebuyers from going out and see homes, this December they have not been shy. They are not hesitant to go check out homes to buy. Realtors in even the coldest areas of the country have reported more showings than normal.

The only downside reported is that home sellers have had to keep their homes tidier from the traffic of homebuyers. Doesn’t sound like too much of a problem!

So, if you are considering buying a home or putting your home for sale, there is no need to wait! It is smarter for you to jump in now.

Even in November, head economist at realtor.com Jonathan Smoke said, “If you are ready, consider getting in the market now instead of early spring. You will have more choices and less competition, and you can lock in today’s rates rather than risk rates being 25 to 50 basis points higher.”
