The Miami International Boat Show is bringing the 5 biggest days in boating back in February 2018, and it’s stacked up to be better than ever! The Miami boat show provides a world-class experience for more than 100,000 boating enthusiasts across the globe. It is unarguably one of the biggest events in Miami each year, with an estimated economic impact of 854.2 million dollars.
The Miami Boat Show is celebrating its 77th anniversary in 2018, bringing you over 1,400 boats to browse and board. Strictly Sail Miami has joined the program this year so that sailing and powerboat enthusiasts alike can join in the fun. Also new this year is the VIP ticket option, which offers complimentary food and drink along with a luxury VIP deck with great views of the show.

Miami Boat Show Water Taxis & Shuttles –
You can come to the Miami Boat show via land or sea!
Shuttles and water taxis will run from 9 am to 7 pm on all show days, departing from multiple locations. The last water taxi running to Miami Marine Stadium leaves at 4:30 pm. Shuttles will also run on the road between the Miami International Boat Show and the Miami Yacht Show.
Miami Boat Show Parking –
You can book your parking near shuttle and water taxi hubs ahead of time for $25 to $100. You can also choose to use Uber, Lyft, or get a ride from the friend, but be aware that you still will need to catch a shuttle or water taxi at a departure point as drop-offs at show entrance or anywhere along the Rickenbacker Causeway are not allowed.

There is an array of food and beverage options throughout the Miami Boat Show. They have everything from food trucks and carts, to food courts, dining on the water, and even lounges to enjoy a beverage or two. Check out your options ahead of time so you will know where you want to head once you start to get hungry or are ready for a refreshing drink.

Training
Seminars
There is a whole slew of seminars happening each day, covering everything from “Advanced Docking” to “Basics of Weather in the Marine Environment”. Check out the seminar schedule beforehand to make sure you can catch the ones you really want to see!
Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center
Learn the skills needed to maintain, repair, or upgrade your boat. The free seminars cover a variety of topics and include demonstrations for proper technique. There are Q&A sessions at the end of each seminar.
Hands-On Skills Training
Take a boat out on the water and learn through hands-on instruction. Both Powerboat and Sailing classes are available! All classes are taught by licensed captains who are also certified instructors. The training lasts for 3 hours and costs $135. Class sizes are limited, so register ahead of time.
Boat-Skills Virtual Trainer
Go on a virtual boat trip and put your skills to the test with the boat-skills virtual trainer. Practice your docking and pivot turns as you drive your virtual boat on a lake containing other powerboats and sailboats, as well as a marina.
Boat Demos
Compare all of your boating options by browising and boarding. Go on down to the demo docks to get an up-close look at the many boat exhibitions at Miami Boat Show. Talk to the dealers and manufacturer reps to get answers to any questions you may have about a particular boat. If you are ready to buy, ask to take a boat on a sea trial and get a feel for it in action!
Sailing
This year, Strictly Sail Miami has teamed up with the Miami International Boat Show to represent sailing in full force. Sailor’s Cove is the dedicated section of the show for all things sailing. Catch on-site education in the form of sailing seminars or head over for some DIY help in Fred’s Shed. Make sure you also check out the Sail Pavilion for gear, accessories, clothing, and more. If you are interested in checking out sailboats, head down to Pier 9 to see a wide variety on display.
Solar Electric Power Zone
A new feature at the Miami Boat Show, the Solar Electric Power Zone is an exhibit for the potential and future of solar power in the boating industry. Learn about renewable solar power in the form of a floating dock, as well as the latest in electric boats. You can find this in the Header Pier, Slips 205 and 206.
